Thanksgiving Part 2

October 11, 2010

Second Dinner today.

Well, what can I say? It’s Thanksgiving. What could very well be the last time I eat turkey for a long, long time. Today, I ate amazing, when it comes to my health restrictions. Veganism – not so much.

Breakfast consisted of eggs, turkey sausage, and spelt bagels. Good, good, good for the health side! Also had my daily grapefruit as well.

In the afternoon, I had a little glass of real milk. That was my bad. There is a very good reason though – my Dad has been growing some hot peppers, and he had one type that he was not sure what it was. He does not really eat spicy foods, but my brother and I do. So he brought us a pepper. It was either a sweet cherry pepper, or a scotch bonnet. Yep, it was a scotch bonnet. Super hot! Half my face went numb, and milk is a good way to cut the spice, and get the feeling back. So it was more like medication, versus desire. And honestly, it was not something amazing. I did not drink it and think ‘mmmm, that was awesome’. So after a few weeks, life goes on. No missing milk at this end!

Dinner. Turkey, white meat. Stuffing. Mixed veggies. Brussel Sprouts, Cabbage Rolls. Cold Beans. Salad.

Stuffing – yes, I had stuffing. However, it was spelt bread, and turkey bacon, along with mushrooms and spices! The cabbage rolls – filled with turkey and quinoa! So everything was good by the health reasoning! I also had a glass of wine.

For dessert, I had the Coconut Bliss, along with some more of the strawberry rhubarb fill.

Good and good!

So with all being said, this weekend was not too bad. Next year, it is going to be tough to avoid the turkey, and the stuffing (especially the bacon ones), however, there are lots of options available.

In 1 year, I hopefully will have some other options figured out, and will be good to go!
